Denise holds an electrical engineering degree from Southern University and A&M College, where she graduated in the top one percent of her class — and she has spent her career on the engineering side of communications and enterprise technology rather than beside it.
She began at Bell Northern Research, commissioning and designing communications switches, work that put her name on technology patents. She moved to Nortel Networks as a senior manager, then joined eaiTek Consulting as a partner — the practice whose assets became Team 7 Consulting. She has led the firm as Chief Executive Officer since.
That path is why hard engineering judgment sits at the top of this firm: switch commissioning teaches you what happens when a system that people depend on is brought up wrong, and it is the same lesson a data hall or an ERP cutover teaches.
